Pedestrian Critically Injured in East Charleston Boulevard Accident
Las Vegas, NV (January 23, 2023) – On Saturday, the authorities arrested Shermonique Batiste, 49, in a South Nellis Boulevard DUI collision that injured a pedestrian.
The traffic collision took place at about 5:53 p.m. south of the intersection with East Charleston Boulevard.
The authorities said a gray Hyundai Sonata driven by Shermonique Batiste was southbound on South Nellis Boulevard when a male pedestrian who was on the west sidewalk of South Nellis Boulevard left the sidewalk and walked east into the Hyundai’s path of travel.
Apparently,, the front of the Hyundai struck the pedestrian and threw him south.
Immediately, the responding emergency medical personnel took the pedestrian to Sunrise Hospital in critical condition.
Meanwhile, Shermonique Batiste remained at the scene. Officers said she displayed signs of impairment consistent with Marijuana usage.
Officers booked Shermonique Batiste to the Clark County Detention Center for the applicable DUI charges. The authorities are still investigating the East Charleston Boulevard accident.
