Officers Investigate the Borger Vehicle Collision
Borger, TX (June 20, 2023) – On June 19, Sheridan Mercer, 21, of Borger, and Orlando Bustos, 35, also of Borger, were killed following a Highway 136 vehicle collision.
The fatal crash took place at around 3:15 a.m., three miles west of Borger.
Investigating officer said Bustos was eastbound on the freeway when he veered over into the westbound lanes. His vehicle, a Kia Optima struck a Hyundai Elantra head-on driven by Mercer.
Officers said that neither of the drivers was wearing a seat belt.
Sheridan Mercer was thrown from the Elantra.
Mercer and Bustos were declared dead at the scene.
In the meantime, officers are investigating the Highway 136 vehicle collision.
