46-Year-Old Lake Elsinore Man Fatally Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver on Grand Avenue
LAKELAND VILLAGE, CA (December 20, 2019) – A man was killed following a pedestrian hit-and-run crash Friday evening in Lakeland Village.
The fatal crash happened around 9:15 p.m. at the intersection of Grand Avenue and Sangston Drive.
According to police, the man was standing on the shoulder of Grand Avenue when he was struck by a red early 1990s Honda Accord that was traveling southbound. The male driver of the car did not stop after the crash.
Responding paramedics took the victim to Inland Valley Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The victim was later identified as Shawn Crouch, 46, of Lake Elsinore.
Investigators found evidence that the Honda’s right front headlamp was damaged, and the passenger-side mirror was knocked off from the crash.
Police are still investigating the incident and on the lookout for the suspect.
