Sacramento Woman Dead, Shawn Chaney Hospitalized in State Route 20 Williams Accident

 
Williams, CA (May 05, 2021) – On April 27, 47-year-old Shawn Chaney of Bonaire, GA was injured in a fatal crash on State Route 20.
 
The fatal accident happened at approximately 3:45 p.m. between State Route 16 and Mitchell Flats.
 
Apparently, an eastbound Ford Explorer on the roadway, at a high rate of speed, rear-ended a vehicle towing a trailer.
 
The accident caused the Ford to cross into the opposing lane of traffic and crashed head-on with a westbound Toyota Tundra.
 
As a result, Juan Hernandez Martinez, the Ford driver, suffered major injuries, including a broken femur. He also complained of chest and rib pain.
 
Meanwhile, Shawn Chaney, the Toyota driver, incurred lacerations to his right hand and complained of pain to the left side of his body.
 
Chaney’s passenger, a 44-year-old Sacramento woman, succumbed to her injuries at a nearby hospital.
 
Moreover, officers said it is unknown at this time if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the fatal crash.
