Sharon Mangeri Dies in Head-On Multi-Car Crash on Highway 41 near Children’s Boulevard

 
MADERA, CA (January 28, 2019) – Monday’s high-speed chase between a woman in a car and a California Highway Patrol officer ended in a deadly head-on collision on Highway 41 near Children’s Boulevard.
 
A CHP officer noticed a tan-colored sedan traveling north on the highway at a high rate of speed around 3 p.m. The woman, later identified as Sharon Marie Mangeri, swerved the vehicle to the southbound lanes as the deputy tried chasing her down; however, the woman struck a Chevrolet sedan, spun out of control and plowed head-on with a gray Dodge.
 
The driver of the Dodge and the Chevrolet suffered only minor injuries. Mangeri was killed in the crash and an investigation regarding this is underway.
