32-Year-Old Sergio Reyes Arrested after La Mirada Car Collision

 
LA MIRADA, CA (March 19, 2019) – Early Tuesday morning, 32-year-old Sergio Reyes was arrested after crashing into Crunch Fitness gym.
 
To begin, the accident happened around 1:45 AM, in the 12800 block of Valley View Avenue. Dispatchers arrived to the area shortly after.
 
As per reports, Reyes stole a 2008 Honda Accord and crashed into a Crunch Fitness gym. However, it is currently unknown if Reyes crashed the car intentionally.
 
Moreover, Reyes allegedly fled the scene after getting into the passenger side of an awaiting 2019 Toyota Corolla. The driver of the Corolla eventually struck a curb and crashed near Alicante Road and Manzanares Road, after witnesses chased them.
 
Law enforcement eventually arrested Reyes. He was later detained on suspicion of attempted murder. In addition, he was also charged with taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent. However, police have not located the getaway driver of the Corolla.
 
Furthermore, the surrounding area closed for a brief time while crews worked to clear the wreckage. However, police did not release any additional information at this time.
 
It is also currently unclear if any injuries were sustained.
