Semi-Truck Crashes into Tree near Applegate Road

 
ATWATER, CA (November 18, 2018) – A semi-truck driver was airlifted after a crash on Highway 99, early Monday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision took place at approximately 7:54 AM, just north of Applegate Road. Based on their report, the victim’s freightliner semi-truck went off the roadway and crashed into a tree.
 
The paramedics were requested for rescue and the truck driver was flown to Memorial Hospital for treatment. There was no update on the victim’s current medical condition, including the extent of injuries sustained in the incident.
 
Authorities closed the No. 2 lane for about two hours while a clearing operation was performed to clean and clear the area. An investigation is ongoing to determine liabilities. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
