Selina Resendiz Yanez Dead Following Santa Ana Crash on Lowell Street

 
SANTA ANA, CA (November 22, 2020) – Friday night, authorities arrested Jesus Emmanuel Perez after an accident on Lowell Street that left passenger Selina Resendiz Yanez dead.
 
According to reports, at 11:20 p.m., as two Santa Ana Police officers sat in their parked police unit, a Honda collided head-on with the patrol vehicle.
 
As a result, Orange County Fire Authority paramedics came and treated the officers and the Honda occupants. Then, they transported the patients to a nearby hospital.
 
Meanwhile, the Honda passenger, 25-year-old Selina Resendiz Yanez, succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.
 
On the other hand, authorities arrested the Honda driver, Jesus Emmanuel Perez of Santa Ana. He was detained on suspicion of felony vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
 
According to the police, it seems that the vehicle was driving east on Washington Avenue when it crashed into the police unit.
 
The crash caused major front-end damage to both cars. Furthermore, the Honda’s windshield appeared crushed.
 
The authorities continue to investigate the crash. Moreover, they are asking anyone with information to call Investigator N. Guijarro at 714-245-8284. Also, they can call the Santa Ana Police Department’s Traffic Division at 714-245-8200.
