Jayson Salzman Arrested after Fatal Car Crash near North Rainbow Boulevard
LAS VEGAS, NV (May 19, 2019) – Authorities identified 55-year-old Scott Fix of Tehachapi, California as the man killed in a crash near North Rainbow Boulevard.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the incident happened on West Craig Road, at about 2:12 AM. A westbound 2012 Ford Focus, driven by 29-year-old Jayson Salzman of Henderson, was traveling at a high rate of speed and ran a red light. As it approached the intersection, it struck the left side of a Ford Fusion.
Emergency responders rushed Fix to University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Unfortunately, he died hours after the incident. Meanwhile, his passenger, identified as 54-year-old Ronald Fix of Laguna Nigel, California, sustained critical injuries.
Salzman was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on two counts of reckless driving, one count of DUI resulting in substantial bodily harm, and one count of DUI resulting in death.
Anyone with information is asked to cooperate with investigators as soon as possible. Additional details will be released following the conclusion of the investigation.
