1 Detained after San Rafael Auto Accident on Market Street

 
SAN RAFAEL, CA (July 18, 2020) – Wednesday night, authorities arrested Santos Cifuentes after a drunk-driving crash on Market Street.
 
According to San Rafael police Lt. Dan Fink, the incident occurred at around 10:30 p.m. in the Canal neighborhood. Moreover, when the authorities arrived, they located an abandoned Toyota sedan. The vehicle had crashed through the east wall of Dependable Tire and Brake on 25 Market Street.
 
Fortunately, the authorities spotted the suspect nearby and chased him.
 
Afterward, they arrested the suspect identified as 23-year-old Santos Eduardo Coyoy Cifuentes of San Rafael.
 
They booked Santos Cifuentes into the Marin County Jail on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, hit-and-run driving, and resisting an officer.
