Afternoon Head-On Crash in Santa Ysabel Seriously Injures One

SANTA YSABEL, CA (November 26, 2018) – One person was badly injured following a head-on collision Monday afternoon in Santa Ysabel.

The collision happened around 4:46 p.m. on Highway 78, just West of Highway 79.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a white Ford Focus and a white utility truck collided head-on sending broken glass and debris in lanes.

Law enforcement and paramedics responded to the scene and located one patient with major injuries. The badly injured patient was taken to a hospital in an unknown condition.

A SigAlert was issued in the area, blocking both lanes of the highway for unknown duration while officers and crews worked on the scene.

An ongoing investigation continues to determine the ultimate cause of the accident and liability.
