Multi-Vehicle Collision in Santa Cruz Injures Four Harbor High School Students

SANTA CRUZ, CA (May 15, 2019) – Four female students were hospitalized following a multi-vehicle crash Wednesday morning in Santa Cruz.

The crash was reported just before 11:00 a.m. in the 300 block of La Fonda Avenue.

According to the police report, a maroon Nissan 350Z Roadster carrying four female students from Harbor High School veered to the left side of the street and struck a parked minivan. It then sideswiped a parked truck and then traveled to the opposite side of the road and crashed into another parked van.

The 17-year-old driver, who was found to be unlicensed, lost control of her car, which was designed for two people.

One of the students suffered major injuries and was flown to a Bay Area trauma center. She is now in stable condition, according to police.

The other girls were taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for minor injuries and are expected to recover.

Investigation of this incident is still ongoing.

When you’re behind the wheel, always stay alert and look out for cars weaving in and out of the lanes. Drive at designated speed limits instead of driving at high speeds in a high-volume traffic. Also, do not drive without a licence since it is illegal and can lead to harsh penalties. Your driving license will help identify you in the case of accidents.
