Fatal Rollover Crash on Bouquet Canyon Road in Santa Clarita

 
SANTA CLARITA, CA (January 14, 2019) – A 22-year-old Palmdale man was killed following a rollover crash rainy Monday morning on a mountain road in Santa Clarita.
 
The fatal crash happened around 6:36 a.m. on Bouquet Canyon Road, just South of Texas Canyon Road near mile marker 15.91.
 
According to the CHP, a silver Toyota sedan was traveling southbound at a high rate of speed when it failed to negotiate a turn and crashed into a dirt embankment, where it landed on its roof.
 
The man driving the car was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not yet been released pending next of kin notification.
 
The crash prompted a three-hour closure of northbound Bouquet Canyon Road.
 
Excessive speed appears to be a factor in the crash but further investigation is underway.
