Palm Desert Man Sanford Reed Dies after Being Struck by Multiple Vehicles on Monterey Avenue

 
Palm Desert, CA (June 12, 2020) – On Thursday night, 25 year old Sanford Reed died after being hit by three vehicles at the intersection of Monterey Avenue and Hovley Lane.
 
According to reports, the incident happened at around 10 p.m. on June 11.
 
As a result of the accident, medical responders took Mr. Reed to the Eisenhower Medical Center.
 
Despite this, the victim died a shortly after.
 
Subsequently, authorities confirmed that Sanford Reed was on a designated crosswalk when the first vehicle struck him.
 
Although the cause of the crash is still undetermined, neither alcohol or drugs seem to be factors.
 
One of the drivers, a 26-year-old Palm Desert, remained on scene and cooperated with investigators.
 
The road remained closed until Friday morning.
