Sandra Sanchez and Herlinda Guerrero Killed in Highway 385 Head-On Crash [Lamb County, TX]

Lamb County, TX (May 6, 2023) – On Thursday, passengers Sandra Sanchez, 54, of Hart, and Herlinda Guerrero, 58, of Springlake, were both killed in a Highway 385 head-on crash.

The tragic collision unfolded at about 1:40 p.m. more than 10 miles south of Springlake.

According to DPS officers, a Dodge Caravan driver, identified as Rhonda Lynn Connor, 61, of Springlake, was nearing a hill and tried to pass an 18-wheeler in a no-passing zone. At the same time, a car driven by Teresa Ledesma, 52, of Springlake, was northbound on the highway.

As a result, the two vehicles collided.

The responding medical team transported Gonzalez to University Medical Center in Lubbock with serious injuries. Two passengers of her passengers, Sanchez, and Guerrero, were declared dead at the scene.

Connor was transported to UMC with serious injuries.
