Manual Salvador Flores Arrested for DUI Pedestrian Accident on Palmdale Avenue Near Emerald Road
VICTORVILLE, CA (February 11, 2018) – A 62-year-old Victorville woman was struck and killed by a drunk driver on Palmdale Avenue just west of Emerald Road, on Sunday night around 8:36 PM.
Manual Salvador Flores, 22, was driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol east in a blue Ford F-150, when he swerved across the white fog line and struck a woman. Sandra Leon Pasillas was walking east on the south side of Palmdale Road when she was hit.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department arrived at the scene of the crash with emergency personnel. The victim suffered major injuries and was pronounced dead. Palmdale Road closed in both directions between Cantina Drive and Cobalt Road for several hours for investigation.
The fatal accident is currently under the investigation by the Victorville City Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT). Flores was arrested on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, and was booked at the High Desert Detention Center in the City of Adelanto. His bail is set at $250,000, and is said to be at court soon.
