Flora Street Motorcycle Crash Kills Female Rider

Spokane, WA (April 16, 2023) – On Saturday, Sandra Albertson, 65, of Spokane, died in a State Route 290 collision.

The fatal traffic collision unfolded at about 11:40 a.m. near the intersection with Flora Road.

Washington State Patrol said a motorcycle Albertson drove was southbound on Flora Street.  At the same time, a truck was eastbound on SR 290. WSP said Albertson tried to cross SR 290 but was struck by the truck in the eastbound right lane of the freeway.

Unfortunately, Albertson died at the accident scene.

Moreover, the authorities said drugs or alcohol were not involved in the crash. Officers stated that the cause of the collision was failure to yield the right of way. Police mentioned that Albertson did not have a USDOT-compliant helmet.

Officers are investigating the collision.
