13-Year-Old Boy Injured after being Struck by Car on Los Vallecitos Boulevard near Autumn Drive
SAN MARCOS, CA (February 12, 2018) – A 13-year-old boy was injured after colliding with a car at the 400 block of Los Vallecitos Boulevard on Sunday.
The young skateboarder was riding down a hill from an apartment complex on Los Vallecitos Boulevard just west of Autumn Drive, at around 3:50 PM. He entered the roadway and was hit by the front end of a 2015 Nissan Sentra, according to Deputy David Arnold Sr.
The injured boy’s parents were notified of the accident and arrived at the scene before deputies and paramedics. San Marcos Fire Department personnel rendered medical treatment at the scene and brought him to Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego. His injuries were considered serious but not life threatening.
The 25-year-old woman driving the Sentra remained at the scene of the crash and was not suspected of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Deputies from the San Marcos substation’s traffic division are still investigating the incident to determine the exact cause of the crash.
