Morning 2-Car Crash on Highway 156 in San Juan Bautista
SAN JUAN BAUTISTA, CA (March 7, 2019) – One person was airlifted following a two-car crash Thursday morning in San Juan Bautista.
The crash happened around 10:31 a.m. on Highway 156 at Monterey Street.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a dark-colored SUV and a dark sedan collided. The impact sent one car into the ditch, while the other was pushed to the right shoulder.
A female occupant was seen crawling out of the vehicle in the ditch.
Emergency crews arrived and found one patient with major injuries. Another patient was trapped inside one of the vehicles and was being extricated. One of the victims was flown to Natividad Medical Center in an unknown condition.
There were no descriptions of any vehicular damages but both cars were towed away from the crash site.
The specific cause of the crash and who may be at fault remain under investigation.
