Driver Strikes Scooter Rider in San Jose

 
SAN JOSE, CA (March 1, 2019) – A scooter rider suffered injuries Thursday afternoon when a driver struck the victim near East San Fernando Street and South 6th Street.
 
According to San Jose police Officer Gina Tepoorten, the crash occurred around 4:08 p.m. Tepoorten said a driver in a Tesla Model S struck the man riding the scooter near the intersection.
 
The rider suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Further reports noted that the driver struck the man as he was riding in the opposite direction. Authorities questioned the driver shortly after the crash but have yet to determine the precise events.
