SAN JOSE, CA – Man Killed in Car Crash at South White Road and Buckner Drive

Fatal Car Accident on South White Road in San Jose

 
SAN JOSE, CA (May 4, 2019) – A man was killed following a car accident Saturday morning in San Jose, authorities said.
 
Witnesses told investigators the man was driving southbound on South White Road near Buckner Drive around 6:15 a.m. when his car suddenly turned across the northbound lanes, jumped the curb and slammed into the front of Santa Fe Taqueria.
 
Paramedics took the driver to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. His identity was not immediately available, but authorities described him as an elderly man. He was the sole occupant of his car.
 
It was unclear how badly the restaurant was damaged, though authorities said the building will be off-limits until inspectors can determine whether it is safe to enter.
 
Investigators do not believe anyone was inside the restaurant.
 
CHP is still investigating the cause of the crash.
