One Hospitalized with Minor Injuries after 2-Car Crash near Draper Avenue

 
LA JOLLA, CA (December 12, 2018) – On Wednesday morning, a San Diego Police officer was injured in an accident on Pearl Street. The identity of the officer has not yet been released to the public.
 
According to the SDPD, the incident occurred around 7:30 AM near Draper Avenue. Officials stated that the officer was on his way to a dispatch call when his patrol vehicle was struck by a pickup truck as it was making a left turn onto Draper.
 
First responders arrived at the crash site, and transported the victim to a nearby hospital. He reportedly sustained minor injuries, but his current medical condition is unclear at this time. The unidentified truck driver suffered no injuries, and remained on site to cooperate with the authorities.
 
It is unknown if alcohol and drugs were contributing factors in the accident. No further details have been disclosed, as the investigation continues.
