SAN DIEGO, CA – Woman Seriously Injured in 2-Vehicle Crash at Camino Ruiz and Miramar Road

Minivan Runs Through Red Light and Crashes Sedan on Camino Ruiz Leaving One with Major Injuries

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (April 8, 2019) – A 67-year-old woman was seriously injured following a two-vehicle collision Monday evening in San Diego.
 
The collision happened around 10:00 p.m. at the intersection of Camino Ruiz and Miramar Road.
 
According to San Diego police, a 2007 Honda Odyssey minivan, driven by a 36-year-old man, was traveling westbound on Miramar Road when it ran through a red light and struck the driver’s side of a 2005 Toyota Scion driven by the woman who was traveling southbound on Camino Ruiz.
 
Arriving paramedics rushed the woman to a hospital with a fractured pelvis, broken ribs and a brain injury, police said.
 
The Honda driver stopped and cooperated with authorities.
 
At this time, drugs and/or alcohol were not being ruled out as factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
