S Palm Street Collision Injures Motorcyclist
Las Vegas, NV (June 3, 2023) – On Thursday, a 20-year-old motorcyclist sustained injuries and the authorities arrested Samuel Gonzalez, 31, in a DUI collision on East Tropicana Avenue.
The authorities received the crash report at about 11:35 p.m. at the intersection with South Palm Street, east of Interstate 515.
According to the LVMPD, the rider of a 2023 Kawasaki was eastbound on East Tropicana Avenue when a Chevrolet Silverado driven by Gonzalez was westbound and made a left turn onto South Palm Street in front of the motorcyclist. The Chevrolet and the motorcycle collided.
Immediately, the paramedics rushed the motorcyclist to Sunrise Hospital’s trauma unit for his life-threatening injuries.
The authorities said Gonzalez showed signs of impairment and they arrested him for DUI.
Based on the Clark County Detention records, Gonzalez faces charges of DUI resulting in substantial bodily injury, reckless driving resulting in substantial bodily injury, and failure to yield the right of way involving a left turn.
Gonzalez is due to appear in Las Vegas Justice Court for his initial appearance Friday at 1:30 p.m.
The authorities are still investigating the S Palm Street collision.
