22-Year-Old Long Beach Woman Dies after Hit by Car in Bellflower

 
BELLFLOWER, CA (November 17, 2019) – A woman was struck and killed by a car Sunday evening in Bellflower, officials said.
 
The fatal incident happened around 9:20 p.m. on Lakewood Boulevard near Cedar Street.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, a female pedestrian was crossing the street when a Ford Mustang hit her. It was unclear whether the woman was in a crosswalk.
 
The impact sent the woman down on the roadway. Responding paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene.
 
Authorities later identified the victim as Samantha Denise Rivera, 22, of Long Beach.
 
The driver stayed and was not suspected of driving under the influence, officials said.
 
It is unknown if charges has been filed and liability has not yet been determined. The incident remains under investigation.
