26-Year-Old Turlock Man Fatally Struck by Vehicle near East Barnhart Road
DENAIR, CA (October 28, 2018) – A man was killed Sunday evening following a pedestrian crash near East Barnhart Road. The victim was later identified as 26-year-old Salvador Gudino, a resident of Turlock.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident took place at about 6:30 PM. A 2010 Honda, driven by 76-year-old Mary Smith of Denair, was heading south on Gratton Road when it struck the victim.
Gudino suffered critical injuries and was transported to Emmanuel Medical Center in Turlock for treatment. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead by medical staff. Meanwhile, Smith remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the fatal collision and to identify possible contributing factors. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
