Sacramento Man Dies in Fiery Crash on Interstate 5 [Woodland, CA]

Woodland, CA (August 16, 2021) On Sunday, a 68-year-old man from Sacramento died in a fiery crash on Interstate 5 close to Woodland.

Authorities say that the incident happened around 7:45 p.m. just by the Kentucky Avenue overcrossing oo Interstate 5.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) confirmed 3 other people were hurt in the crash.

A 27-year-old woman from Elk Grove driving north in a Toyota Sedan collided with the Chevy pickup the Sacramento man was driving after the Toyota veered off the roadway.

The man and his 2 passengers, a 52-year-old woman and a 14-year-old boy were trapped inside the truck.

Unfortuantely, the truck caught fire. The woman and the boy escaped. However, the man did not scape and died on the scene.

Right away, rescuers took the female driver to the hospital with serious injuries.

Similarly, the responders also took the pickup’s adult passenger to the hospital, while the boy suffered minor injuries.

The Yolo County’s Coroner withheld the deceased’s information pending once notification of kin.

Moreover, the authorities did not arrest no arrest anyone as they are still investigating the incident.
