Minivan and SUV Collide on 5 Freeway in Sacramento, Injuries Reported

 
SACRAMENTO, CA (December 16, 2018) – Two people were injured following a two-vehicle collision Sunday afternoon on northbound 5 Freeway at Cosumnes River Boulevard.
 
The collision happened around 3:47 p.m. involving a blue Toyota Sienna minivan and a gray Toyota Highlander.
 
While the cause of the crash has not yet been determined, one of the vehicles went about 50 feet off the roadway into the grassy Cloverleaf area. Several other vehicles stopped on the right shoulder to assist.
 
An ambulance unit was dispatched to the scene and transported two occupants to a hospital for treatment and further evaluation.
 
There were no descriptions of any vehicular damages but both vehicles were towed away from the crash site.
 
An ongoing investigation continues to determine the ultimate cause of the accident and liability.
