Sabrina Yarnell Dead, Joaquin McKenzie Injured after Modesto Two-Car Crash
MODESTO, CA (May 6, 2019) – A woman died following a two-vehicle accident on Yosemite Boulevard at Trask Lane in Modesto on Tuesday, April 30.
According to the Modesto Police Department, authorities identified the deceased as 27-year-old Sabrina Yarnell, of Modesto.
Yarnell was the westbound driver who for unknown reasons lost control of her Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck. Her vehicle then drove into the path of an eastbound Acura sedan, authorities stated.
Yarnell’s passenger, 36-year-old Joaquin McKenzie of Modesto, suffered major injuries and was taken to a hospital, authorities reported. The driver of the Acura, 44-year-old Maria Preciado of Modesto, was not hurt.
A GoFundMe page created to help with memorial costs says that Yarnell had such an amazing spirit.
Police have not yet said if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
