SAN YSIDRO, CA (July 5, 2021) – Friday morning, Ryan Park, Jamie Huntley-Park and another person died in a crash on Interstate 5.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at around 10:25 a.m. on Interstate 5 near State Route 905.
 
Reports revealed that a northbound vehicle in the southbound lanes traveled at a high rate of speed. Then, the crash happened. The incident involved a blue Ford Fusion sedan owned by the city of San Diego. Also, a Honda Civic started catching fire after the incident.
 
Furthermore, officials confirmed that 32-year-old Detective Ryan Park, 32-year-old Detective Jamie Huntley-Park, and the wrong way driver died in the crash, San Diego police Chief David Nislei said.
 
Moreover, the incident blocked the road for several hours.
