Hollister, CA (August 11, 2020) – On Saturday, 21-year-old Ryan Henner of Gilroy died in a solo vehicle crash on Highway 25.

The fatal incident happened at about 9:30 a.m., south of Bolsa Road.

CHP said Henner was driving a 2011 Toyota Tacoma northbound on 25 at an unknown speed when he drifted into the dirt on the right shoulder.

He lost control of his vehicle. Drifted back across both lanes and crashed into a tree on the opposite side of the road.

Calster pulled him from his vehicle and took him to Natividad Medical Center where he died of his injuries.

Meanwhile, his passenger, a 20-year-old man from Morgan Hill suffered major injuries. Rescuers took him to the same hospital by ambulance.

CHP continues to investigate the crash. They said they do not know yet the speed the truck was traveling at the time of the accident. They also mentioned that both men were wearing seatbelts.

We send our sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Ryan Henner.
