Speeding Car Crashes on Highway 44 in Redding Killing the Driver and Passenger
REDDING, CA (November 11, 2019) – Two men died in a high-speed car accident late Monday afternoon in Redding.
The Shasta County Coroner’s Office identified the men as 30-year-old Ryan Lee Dearman of Cottonwood and Travis Lee Brundage, 27, of Redding.
Just before 5:00 p.m., Brundage was driving a gray 2001 Corvette with Dearman as his passenger. They were traveling at approximately 100 mph on Highway 44 near Victor Avenue.
Officials say the Corvette lost control and hit a guardrail. It then overturned multiple times and came to rest in the bed of Churn Creek.
As a result, both Brundage and Dearman were ejected and died at the scene. They were not wearing their seat belts.
A GoFundMe page was created to help families with funeral expenses.
Investigators are looking further into the accident and asked witnesses to call the CHP at 225-0500.
