DUI Driver Struck and Injured Pedestrian near Denby Street

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (November 15, 2019) – 26-year-old Ruth James suffered injuries in a pedestrian accident on Market Street on Friday evening.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened near the intersection of Denby Street at approximately 10:35 PM.
 
Based on a report from the San Diego Police Department, James was not on a crosswalk. However, she crossed Market Street legally when a 2015 Honda Accord sedan struck her.
 
Paramedics transported the victim to the hospital with a fractured pelvis and other internal injuries. Her condition is considered serious. However, police stated her condition is not life-threatening.
 
Police arrested the driver of the Honda, a 40-year-old woman, on suspicion of felony DUI. As a result, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department is currently detaining her. However, it is unknown if she made bail.
 
Police did not release any other details regarding the accident at this time. However, an investigation continues.
