Bicyclist Fatally Struck by Minivan at Airport Street and Stanford Avenue
HALF MOON BAY, CA (November 18, 2019) – A man riding a bicycle died after being struck by a minivan Monday night in Half Moon Bay.
The crash happened around 6:09 p.m. near the intersection of Airport Street and Stanford Avenue.
According to the CHP, a 60-year-old Ruben Obledo of Moss Beach was riding northbound on Airport Street, when a southbound 1998 Toyota Sienna struck him.
As a result, Obledo suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
The minivan’s driver, 33-year-old Muyuan Zhu of East Palo Alto, remained on the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
Drugs, alcohol and speed did not appear to be factors in the crash, officials said.
