Two Men Fatally Injured and One Hospitalized in Crash near Desert Flower Road

ADELANTO, CA (April 8, 2018) – On Sunday evening, a two-vehicle crash on US Highway 395 took the life of two men. The victims were later identified as 24-year-old Ruben Luna of Adelanto, and 62-year-old Robert Lee of Rialto.

According to California Highway Patrol officials, the accident happened at around 7:45 PM on Highway 395 near Desert Flower Road. A 2007 Chevy Impala, driven by Luna, was traveling northbound when it crossed over the double-yellow lines into oncoming traffic.

Lee was driving a 2003 Dodge heading the opposite direction when the Impala collided with his vehicle head-on. The impact of the collision killed both Luna and Lee at the scene of the accident. An unnamed male passenger from the Impala was rushed to the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center after sustaining major injuries. His condition has not been released to the public yet.

CHP is still unsure why Luna suddenly crossed the lines and continue to investigate the fatal collision. They are unsure whether or not drugs and alcohol were contributing factors in the accident. Authorities are encouraging witnesses with additional information to contact Officer J Arzeola of CHP’s Victorville office by calling (760) 241-1186.

No other information is available at this time.
