1-Year-Old Royce Jones Killed in High Speed Collision on Rampart and Lake Mead Boulevards

 
Summerlin, NV (July 14, 2020)– A two-vehicle collision on Rampart and Lake Mead boulevards killed a toddler named Royce Jones on Sunday night.
 
Moreover, police said in the news released on Monday that speeding and impairment were apparent factors that led to the collision.
 
The incident happened on July 12 around 7:15 p.m. at the Rampart and Lake Mead boulevards intersection.
 
Metropolitan Police Department Lt. David Gordon said there were at least two vehicles involved in the incident. One of the cars was cut in half as a result.
 
The Hyundai was traveling northbound on Rampart Boulevard at a very high rate of speed. Apparently, Laura Prescia told the father she would try to beat him home.
 
Furthermore, the vehicle drove at a speed of 112 mph at the time of the collision.
 
It then collided with police with a Sentra that was turning right from Lake Mead onto Rampart.

Fatal Crash in Summerlin

 
Due to the extent of the crash, a 1-year-old Hyundai occupant, Royce Jone, died. Meanwhile, both drivers were transported to the hospital for sustaining minor injuries according to the preliminary crash report by the police.
 
The deadly collision prompted the closure of the intersection for several hours.
 
Consequently, Lauren Prescia, 23 now faces charges of DUI, reckless driving and abuse/neglect/endangerment of a child.
 
Furthermore, this fatality marked as the 50th traffic-related fatality in Metro’s jurisdiction. Moreover, the Clark County coroner will release the victim’s identification once the next-of-kin have been notified.
