ROWLAND HEIGHTS, CA (January 28, 2019) – Airbags were deployed following a broadside crash Monday afternoon in Rowland Heights.

The crash happened around 1:50 p.m. at the intersection of Golden Springs Drive and Colima Road.

According to an initial report, a maroon Toyota Tacoma and a gray Ford pickup truck were involved. One of the vehicles broadsided the other for unknown reasons. Airbags were deployed in the smaller vehicle as a result of the crash.

Los Angeles County Fire Department officials responded to the scene and found both vehicles blocking the roadway. They worked on the rescue operation, but the number of patients and the extent of injuries sustained were not immediately known.

Details are sparse on what exactly transpired. An ongoing investigation continues to determine the ultimate cause of the accident and liability.

T-bone collisions usually happen in intersections, especially those that do not have any traffic signals. When crossing intersections, make sure to check both directions twice before crossing to the other side. Follow traffic signals and look out for speeding vehicles.
