Roshonda Thornton ID’d as Fatal Victim in 215 Freeway Wrong-Way Crash Near West Charleston Boulevard
LAS VEGAS, NV (January 7, 2020)—The woman who died during Sunday’s wrong-way DUI crash on the 215 Freeway near West Charleston Boulevard has been identified.
According to the Clark County coroner’s office, Roshonda Thornton died in the 1:54 a.m. collision that involved two silver Nissan vehicles.
According to reports, each car carried one man and one woman. All four occupants were transported to UMC trauma, where Thornton succumbed to her injuries. Thornton appeared to be the Nissan driver traveling in the correct direction.
Authorities also determined that impairment did play a role and that the occupants in the wrong-way Nissan failed to wear their seatbelts.
In the wake of the crash, officials closed off the right three lanes for an extended amount of time as crews combed the area for evidence.
