Pedestrian Rose Brooks Struck And Killed on 5 Freeway near Bakersfield

Grapevine, CA (October 11, 2020) – On Saturday, 69-year-old Rose Brooks died in a tragic pedestrian accident on Interstate 5.

California Highway Patrol said the fatal accident took place before 7 p.m. north of Sabodan Street.

Apparently, the victim was outside of her vehicle along the southbound lanes of the Grapevine. That is when Ms. Brooks was struck by a vehicle.

Moreover, CHP units restricted several lanes in the area for a few hours as they investigate the incident. Lanes were reopened at about 9:30 PM.

Consequently, paramedics pronounced Rose Brooks, of Seattle, dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, CHP has not yet confirmed if drugs or alcohol were factors in the incident.
