1 Dead in Cherokee County Auto Accident on Highway 21

CHEROKEE COUNTY, TX (October 31, 2023) – Saturday, Ronterreal Humphrey died in a brutal ATV crash on Highway 21.

The incident happened when an SUV crashed into an ATV on Highway 21 near Alto.

Reports from the Texas DPS revealed that 36-year-old Mumphrey of Alto drove an ATV on Highway 21. However, he was hit from behind by another vehicle and was ejected from the ATV.

Meanwhile, the other driver had impaired visibility and could not see Mumphrey.

After the crash, responders transported the ATV rider to UT Health in Tyler where he was later pronounced dead.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.

Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
