Multiple Injuries Reported in High-Speed Crash on State Route 18
Auburn, WA (May 14, 2023) On Friday evening, a rollover crash on State Route 18 left a passenger dead while 3 others were injured.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the high-speed crash happened at about midnight on State Route 18 near the exit at Southeast Auburn-Black Diamond Road.
Reports say that an 18-year-old driver from Auburn was driving a 2012 black Mercedes SUV at high speed when they failed to navigate a turn. Consequently, the vehicle veered off the road and rolled over several times.
Authorities say that a rear passenger inside the SUV was thrown out of the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the driver and 2 other passengers suffered injuries.
Medics transported the 2 other passengers to Auburn Valley Hospital, while the driver was taken to Saint Anne’s Hospital.
Officials say that they have pending charges for vehicular homicide and reckless driving.
