Roger Rowell Dies in Motorcycle Wreck With Vehicle on East Nees Avenue Near North Blackstone Avenue

 
FRESNO, CA (December 11, 2018) – A 51-year-old motorcyclist perished Friday afternoon following a collision with a motorist on East Nees Avenue near North Blackstone Avenue.
 
The crash happened around 4 p.m. near the River Park Shopping Center and caused a closure near the intersection due to investigations.
 
According to police, the motorcyclist was heading westbound on Nees Avenue at a high rate of speed when his motorcycle collided with an SUV driver who was attempting a north turn into a parking lot from Nees Avenue.
 
The driver involved stayed at the scene and was questioned by officers.
 
Roger Rowell was identified as the fatal victim. Although first responding officers arrived at the scene to perform CPR, he died shortly after.
 
It was unclear who was at fault, but an investigation of this crash is required to ascertain the circumstances.
