Roger Harris Arrested After Police Pursuit; Guy Shearer Died in Auto Crash in Fresno

 
Fresno, CA (April 24, 2020)– Thursday afternoon, a 48-year-old Guy Shearer died while 33-year-old Roger Harris arrested after a police pursuit near Fresno and Olive Avenue.
 
Reportedly, Police were pursuing Harris when he didn’t stop at a stop sign and spotted to have carried a handgun. The chase continued eastbound on Olive Avenue when Harris swerved into a pick-up killing a 48-year-old driver, Guy Shearer on the spot.
 
Moreover, the suspect fled the area into a nearby neighborhood where he finally arrested.
 
Following the Suspect’s Story
 
Police recovered an illegal weapon inside the car believe it has a connection to at least two prior shootings in the Fresno area.
 
Additionally, Harris is a known gang member with 26 prior arrests ranging from domestic violence to terrorist threats and involved in a string of robberies in 2006.
 
“This is just an unfortunate situation where we have to go out and arrest the same people over and over for the same violations when they get released from the justice system,” Chief Hall said.
 
At this time, Harris is facing several charges including murder, resisting arrest, and felony DUI. Once he’s released, he’ll be booked at the Fresno County Jail.
