Rogelio Peregrino  Dies After Hit-And-Run Crash on 35th Avenue in Phoenix

Phoenix, AZ (May 23, 2025) – 46-year-old Rogelio Peregrino died in a hit-and-run crash on 35th Avenue early Friday morning. 

Authorities have identified the victim as 46-year-old Rogelio Peregrino. Emergency crews responded shortly after 1 a.m. to reports of a collision involving a pedestrian near 35th and Northern avenues. 

Investigators confirmed that a driver hit Peregrino as he walked in the area, then fled the scene without offering help. 

Paramedics transported Peregrino to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, but doctors later pronounced him dead.

Police believe the vehicle struck Peregrino while he was walking in the northbound lanes of 35th Avenue. 

As of now, investigators have not released any details about the suspect vehicle involved in the hit-and-run.

Authorities closed a portion of 35th Avenue north of Northern Avenue during the investigation but reopened it shortly after 5 a.m.
