Robin Stephens Dies Pulling Out of Parking lot onto Standiford Avenue in Modesto

 
MODESTO, CA (October 28, 2020) – On Friday night, 49-year-old Robin Stephens died while another one sustained injuries in an accident on Standiford Avenue.
 
According to Police Department spokesman Sharon Bear, the Modesto accident occurred at around 9:15 p.m. It happened on Standiford Avenue at Carver Road.
 
Reports revealed that a red Jeep Wrangler attempted to make a left turn left into eastbound traffic. Moreover, the vehicle had just pulled out of the parking lot at Stop ‘N Save Groceries & Liquor.
 
As the vehicle moved on the north side of Standiford Avenue, a westbound Infiniti coupe broadsided the Jeep.
 
When responders arrived, they rushed the female Modesto driver of the red Jeep Wrangler to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, Ms. Stephens later succumbed to her injuries.
 
Moreover, responders took the male Infiniti driver to a nearby hospital, and is expected to recover.
 
The identity of the victim hasn’t been disclosed due to pending family notification.
 
Meanwhile, Bear confirmed that the Jeep driver was unrestrained at the time of the crash. Moreover, the officers haven’t determined whether racing and alcohol played a role in the collision.
 
Due to the limited information, the authorities are seeking the public’s help. They are urging anyone who witnessed the crash or has information to call MPD Traffic Investigator Randy Raduechel at raduechelr@modestopd.com.
