DUI Crash on Avenue L Kills One Woman and Injures Three Children

 
LANCASTER, CA (August 3, 2019) – Police arrested 36-year-old Robert Wells of Lancaster after a fatal DUI car crash on Avenue L, Saturday afternoon.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened near the intersection of 40th Street at approximately 12:45 PM. Based on an initial report, the accident occurred after Well’s pickup truck made a left turn in on a yellow light in the path of an oncoming SUV.
 
The paramedics brought a woman from the SUV to a hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries. She was only identified as a Lancaster woman in her early-40s. Three children who were riding with her were airlifted to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
 
Police arrested Wells on suspicion of DUI causing death following the crash. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Sheriff’s Lancaster Station at 661-948-8466.
