FERNDALE, WA (January 22, 2023) – Saturday, authorities arrested Robert Theodore Dodge III after a rollover crash on W Smith Road.
 
The incident occurred on W Smith Road.
 
According to reports, a Toyota Dodge crashed into the rear of a northbound black 2019 Nissan Rogue SUV. According to reports, a man, a woman, and an 11-month-old child occupied the Nissan at the time of the crash.
 
Then, the Nissan overturned and came to a stop off the roadway on its top.
 
When firefighters arrived, they extricated the three Nissan occupants. Then, responders airlifted the woman to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. Responders also transported the child to a hospital.
 
Meanwhile, they took the man to PeaceHealth St Joseph Medical Center.
 
Moreover, a Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office deputy stopped pursuing Dodge after attempting a traffic stop and Dodge escaped while speeding.
 
Robert Theodore Dodge III is currently facing suspicion of the following crimes.

• driving under the influence
• attempting to elude a police vehicle
• reckless driving
• vehicular assault
• possession of a stolen vehicle

Officers confirmed that they took Dodge in custody pending a preliminary appearance in Whatcom County Superior Court when bail may be set.

He also has prior felony convictions for possession of a controlled substance, burglary, and threats and was currently awaiting trial for felony retail theft.
