Police Investigate Fatal Traffic Accident in Santa Ynez
Santa Ynez, CA (May 6, 2023) – On Thursday night, Robert Miller, a 69-year-old Solvang man sustained fatal injuries following a Highway 246 pedestrian collision.
The accident report stated that Miller wearing dark clothes, attempted to cross the highway west of Casino Drive. At the same time, 71-year-old Robert Lamb of Camarillo was westbound in a 2011 Ford F-250 pickup, traveling at about 40 mph.
Investigating officers said Miller went directly into the path of the vehicle and was struck by the right front of the pickup truck.
Immediately, an AMR ambulance rushed Miller to Santa Ynez Valley Cottage Hospital where he died an hour later.
The authorities said alcohol was not a factor in the accident and ask anyone who may have details about this incident to call the Buellton CHP office at 805.688.5551
