74-Year-Old Man Killed in Crash on Highway 29 in Middletown, Bryan K. Taber

 
Middletown, CA (September 4, 2020) – On Friday morning, a fatal crash on Highway 29 at Grange Road in the Hidden Valley area lead to the death of Robert Lewis Cromer.
 
This lead to the arrest of Bryan K. Taber.
 
The crash was reported at around 7:35 a.m. on September 4.
 
The Ukiah California Highway Patrol closed the southbound lane of Highway 29 north of Middletown after the crash for investigation and reopened around 10:30 a.m.
 
A 74-year-old man from St. Helena, who drove a white Chevrolet Prizm, died in the accident.
 
43-year-old Bryan Taber of Clearlake Oaks sustained major injuries and police arrested him on suspicion of driving under the influence of prescription meds and cannabis.
 
Taber drove northbound on Highway 29 when, for reasons still unknown, he drifted across the solid double yellow lines and crashed head-on with the St. Helena man.
