2 Bicyclists Killed in Rancho Cucamonga Accident on Foothill Boulevard and Etiwanda Avenue

 
RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA (January 19, 2023) – Tuesday night, authorities arrested Robert Gubany after a fatal crash on Foothill Boulevard and Etiwanda Avenue.
 
The incident happened at around 8:20 p.m. on Foothill Boulevard and Etiwanda Avenue.
 
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office, an eastbound vehicle moved onto the right-hand bicycle lane to pass traffic. Then, it struck two bicyclists as they headed west against the traffic flow. Then, the vehicle fled the scene without stopping and was later involved in another crash.
 
Moreover, responders pronounced a female bicyclist dead at the scene. Then, paramedics rushed the male bicyclist to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
 
Then, authorities managed to locate and arrest the vehicle driver, 23-year-old Robert Gubany. Officers confirmed that he showed signs and symptoms of being under the influence of alcohol. Gubany will be facing charges of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and driving under the influence of alcohol.
